Twitter has released its yearly list of what happened on the social network during the year which includes prominent new users, most retweeted tweets, most influential and top trends.
In a year, that witnessed several huge happenings, from the bombings in Paris to the landmark supreme court victory allowing gays to marry anywhere in the United States of America; there were several trending hashtags for these events including #LoveWins, #PrayForParis and #IStandWithAhmed. There were several African adaptations of these hashtags like #JeSuisBaga, #PrayForKano and #IStandWithSugabelly.
Several celebrities also joined Twitter during the year like the infamous Caitlyn Jenner, Diana Ross and football legend, Alan Shearer. It was also a good year for #Selfie, #Love, #Fashion, #Art and #Photography.
